So, today has been a productive day. I'm glad Joseph is home! We got Net Nanny installed and set up on the computer, so I am more comfortable with allowing Stuart to use the computer. We started painting the downstairs bathroom finally (I bought the paint back in July) and a myriad of other items.
We are off to a party at Nathan and Elaine's - so here are the pics I took this afternoon. Joseph is carving up his giant pumpkin, and Stu carved one of the smaller ones. Me? I just watched... becuase I really don't like slimy stuff.
I'll post images of the Jack-O-Lanterns later, after it gets dark.
This is becoming an annual tradition for us. It is hosted by the City of North Logan, and is always fun. This year the theme was "Commercials". There was an M&M hidden in everyone of the scenes. I'm pretty sure that Andrew had fun.. not so sure about Logan.
Matt and Crenda came up for the day, and we also celebrated Matt's birthday. I even made Tres Leches cake. Apparently, the recipe I used is close enough to the one on his mission, that I sent the recipe and left over cake home with them.
The boys also got dressed up in their costumes for us, so we could see them. Andrew had a bit of a melt down, becuase they forgot the head to his costume (understandable... he loves his new costume).... But, we still talked him into a few pictures. He is a "NICE" dinosaur. He told me he is the type that doesn't eat people. Logan, fittingly, is a little monkey. and a dang cute one at that! He is getting tall. I can't believe how much bigger he is than when we saw him last. It's only been about 2 months, but he is noticeably taller.
All in all... it was a really fun weekend

I am looking forward to this weekend. We can't afford to travel, so I'm grateful that my nephews are coming to ME! Matt and Crenda wanted to come up for the pumpkin walk, and have Joseph do halloween photos of the boys in their costumes. So we figured that we might as well make it a party. I'm baking pumpkin shaped cookies today-to frost tomorrow with Andrew, and making a tres leches cake (from scratch) for Matt's birthday. At least both of those are easy. I'm also going to make Tortilla Soup. Dinner tomorrow will be yummy... but dinner today? Who knows. Probably Ramon or something.
Here is The picture of the Day. I need to take more pictures of what happens......
yes... sad to say, Joseph was one of the 550 laid off at ATK this week. And so the job hunt begins. If anyone knows or hears of anything - please let us know! The idea of moving, or looking for jobs anywhere in the US is scary, but I'm worried that there are very few jobs in the valley.
Guess all the hard work this summer will pay off! Food Storage, here we come!
