So we have had many busy weekends in a row! 2 weeks ago, we were out at Cliff and Thea's, working on the landscaping in the back yard. They lost several large branches off thier trees. We also needed to cut down a few suckers that were growing as well, so we spent that day cutting up wood. We have a good start on firewood for camping! (which we want to do a lot of this summer)
1 week ago was spring cleaning. It was over 60, so we had all the windows opened - after I washed them. The house smells and looks fantastic. I just wish we were able to keep it this way - but I have a teenager, so that is impossible. One with growing feet, that track in mud constantly.(I had to buy him another pair of shoes. He is only 12 - and is up to a mens size 9 - I can't tell what grows faster... his hair or his feet!) Now.... the downside to all of the work we did? Monday we were hit with a snow storm that dumped 4 inches on the ground.
But it melted by Friday, so Sat, and the day was warm.... in the high 50's, and we headed out into the fields to plant. Fortunately, planting doesn't take too much energy (we planted carrots, radish's and peas) since I wasn't feeling quite 100%.. But the smell of the the dirt was GREAT!. Our greenhouse is doing quite well too. It keeping temperature warm and things are growing.
BUT........
we woke up Sunday morning to 8 inches of snow..... and wind blowing like mad. It was FREEZING!
hopefully, spring will actually take hold.
of course... the reality is, that we will skip spring and move straight on over to summer
