I just downloaded these from the camera......I meant to post them sooner. Here is the aftermath of Scout camp. Joseph and I dashed over to the grocery store... and this is what we came home to. Everyone was asleep on the floor in the living room. Stuart was so tired..... he was OUT!!! we let him sleep for like 2 hours... and then woke him up. He wore himself out.
Stuart is back from Camp, and he had a great time. He was.. of course.... the one that was picked on the most, but we talked about that before he left, and he figures he can handle it.... and it prevents them from picking on some of the others. He seems to be wearing it as a badge of honor, to be honest with you.
He finished up 4 of the 5 merit badges he signed up for - and he's going to try and get the last one done before the next court of honor.
I'll get more details out of him as soon as I can.
And they are in early. We are going to have a great harvest this year. We have been checking everyday (as we harvest zucchini, crookneck, and cucumbers), and I swear, on Monday - not a single bean.
But today, Stuart and Alaric rode thier bikes over in the AM. (they left at 7:30 this morning). It is about 9 miles. Alaric mowes the lawns, while stuart weeds. They called us and said we needed to harvest. We really didn't believe them, but we do now! Rachael, Elaine, and I spent about 2 hours out in the sun this afternoon, picking beans. I brought them home, and have prepped, blanched, bagged, and frozen them
Today's harvest yeilded 21.5 lb of green beans, and 1.5 lbs of yellow wax beans.
The part that scares us, is that the corn is coming to a head,
which means soon, it will be polinating. We'll be doing beans, corn and pickles - all at the same time.
Tomorrows activity is preparing jars. I suspect we will be picking 2 or 3 times a week. I think we are going to sell some of the produce. At least Patti gets home on Sunday.
I had forgotten how much I loved playing in an orchestra. Wednesday evening, I received a call from Dr. Frost, who directs the Cache Chamber Orchestra. He asked if I could step in and play on short notice. We had rehearsal Wed and thur night, and the concert was this evening.
I didn't play perfectly, but did decently well. Joseph, Stuart, Rachael, Big Nathan, Elaine, and little Nathan call came.
It was fantastic - and soo much fun.

Here are just a few images of the boys. They backpacked up to the campsite - it was only about 3 1/2 miles. They set up camp, and then had dinner (dehrydrated lazanga).
After that they had a great campfire time - singing silly songs and telling funny stories. They packed out this morning, and were home to me by 10:30.
